A-League Star Runs Soccer Clinics in Regional WA

Management at Karratha Leisureplex wanted to organise an A-League soccer star visit the region for two days of coaching clinics and school visits.

Karratha is 1500km north of Perth, so the community does not have as much access to top sporting talent. Bringing a top-line soccer player to town would boost enthusiasm and create excitement in the community, as well as boosting engagement in sport.

After contacting PickStar, Karratha Leisureplex management was given advice about budget expectations including travel and appearance costs.

The client shortlisted a number of athletes, with Perth Glory's Andy Keogh the top choice.

After finalising the brief, budget, and itinerary, the request was submitted to shortlisted talent, and Andy eager to accept the opportunity. PickStar managed the booking and payment process.

The visit was a huge success and a great boost for the community. The Perth striker spent much of his time working with junior development soccer players as well as local school children, with reports that Andy was a friendly and engaging coach.
